Get Away

Yuck

London, England

Guitars dominate the cipro simonstorey.com fuzzed out vocals on this standout track from Yuck’s self-titled debut release. Cool kaleidescope effects in the official video, too. As an amusing aside, it was hard not to stare at their hairstyles when I saw them at SXSW in March: the lead singer’s Garfunkel, the drummer’s fro, and the Japanese female bassist’s Cousin It.

Don’t Move

Phantogram

Sarasota Springs, NY

I love the complicated rhythms underlaying the mix of uk online nolvadex keyboards and buy proscar online synth sounds punctuated by unexpected horns on this track from this duo out of New York. It’s hard to take the advice of the title while listening to this track.

On the Water

Balance

Future Islands

Baltimore, MD

“Hard work and your time / You can change your life / It just takes time”. So goes the generic proscar online lyrics on a new wave track that sounds like it could have been crafted 25 years ago but feels at home today.

Everything Falls Apart

The One AM Radio

Los Angeles, CA

I love the horns on this beautiful indie pop track, which sees The One AM Radio get a bit more pep in its usually mellow repertoire. Also see In a City Without Seasons and Sunlight.

Idle Labor

After the Moment

Craft Spells

Seattle, WA

Newly relocated from Stockton, CA, Justin Vallestoeros brings synth keyboards and jangly guitars to his original hometown Seattle (which is a nice change of pace from the alt-folk/alt-country that is so popular there). Memento-like video for this eighties style track.

Wounded Rhymes

I Follow Rivers

Lykke Li

Stockhom, Sweden

The drum beats and bongos push this track forward with very little instrumentation besides Lyyke Li’s distinctive voice. Beautifully shot wintry video for this track. Also see Get Some.

Weekend

Smith Westerns

Chicago, IL

Midwest glam rockers Smith Westerns bring their rocking twangy guitars on a feel-good upbeat track. I also loved their song All Die Young.

Romance

Wild Flag

Portland, OR

With Sleater-Kinney disbanded, Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss formed a new band with Helium’s Mary Timony and The Minders’ Rebecca Cole. The result is more hard-charging energetic rock, wonderfully displayed in this track. They’re great to see live on stage.

Punching In a Dream

The Naked and Famous

Auckland, New Zealand

I like several songs from this New Zealand electronic band, but the dynamic euphoric vocals on this track puts it over the top for me. Reminds me of MGMT in a good way. I could just as easily have included the track Young Blood on this list.

What You Know

Two Door Cinema Club

Bangor, Northern Ireland

Irresistable guitar hook in a pretty spectacular pop arrangement, which is of course paired with lyrics tinged with melancholy. Pretty hilarious video.

On to the top 30.
