My first visit to Thornewood OSP even though it’s one of the nearest open space preserves to my house. I took a short but lovely hike on an out-and-back trail up through coast redwoods with a view of the bay up top and a small lake transitioning into forest wetland habitat.

An incredible 2024 Outside Lands soaking in live music. Top tier performances from The Killers, Slowdive, Sturgill Simpson, JUNGLE, The Postal Service, Charley Crockett, Ryan Beatty, Ben Howard, and more. Really enjoyed French Cassettes, Romy, Sons of the East, and Allen Stone. We got to experience the full on Chappell Roan experience and see the pop phenomenon of Sabrina Carpenter. But my favorite show might have been the theatrical performance from The Last Dinner Party. So good.

Mid-summer visit to Foothills Nature Preserve. Pretty much had the trails to myself as I made a loop of the Coyote, Panorama, and Chamise trails with a visit to Vista Hill for the gorgeous view of the Bay.

Delightful hike around Icicle Gorge west of Leaven

Delightful hike around Icicle Gorge west of Leavenworth with gorgeous views of the creek and the mountains and ridges looming on both sides. Beautiful Orange-barked Ponderosa pines, tall slender pines, and cedars line the gorge, and bridges across fast-flowing Icicle Creek and its tributaries make for a scenic loop trail.
