I&#8217;ve poured over my KNAK lists, and I&#8217;ve distilled it down to 30.    How did I decide on these, you might ask.   Everybody has their own criteria, but for me, most of the following is true:<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n<UL><br \/>\n<LI>I&#8217;ve kept the song in my rotation for repeated listenings, and I love it whenever I hear it (online, iPhone, radio).<br \/>\n<LI>It evokes some response from me, emotionally, mentally, or even physically.<br \/>\n<LI>It brings something new to my ears.<br \/>\n<\/UL><br \/>\nBut overall, in looking back, these are hopefully the songs that will most remind me of 2009.   These certainly aren&#8217;t your favorite 30, and they shouldn&#8217;t be, since everybody has their own taste. This is their lead single that caught my attention, and here&#8217;s a compilation video of some live performances. They are a trio of producers (two from sweden, one from nyc) who typically back other groups, and the online release was part of their way to build buzz for their upcoming LP.  It worked for me&#8230;.  and I like a lot of tracks off the LP, including &#8220;Burial&#8221;, &#8220;Black &#038; Blue&#8221;, and &#8220;Cult Logic&#8221;, but this lead single makes it into my top 10.  If I had a list for remixes, I&#8217;d surely include Miike&#8217;s Snow incredible remix of Vampire Weekend&#8217;s The Kids Don&#8217;t Stand A Chance. After all, singing about wanting a simple domestic life (&#8220;I don&#8217;t mean to seem like I care about material things like social status.  I just want four walls and adobe slats for my girls.&#8221;) doesn&#8217;t sound like a formula for an infectious track.
